Almost felt like traveling in a time machine viewing snippets of the city once ruled… Read more Roman Holiday – Part 1

Wanderlust – Budget Traveler Tips

As a solo backpacker I am always on a lookout for the best travel deals, and i am constantly looking at ways how i can stretch my dollar or… looking for ways to channel my daily spendings to get airline miles. Cheap air-tickets 1. Sign-up with the major airlines to get updates and promotional mails from them. Firstly, they are free (if you don’t mind receiving junk emails). And you get enrolled to their frequent flyer programme. Typically, at the beginning of each year airlines will blast out promotional flights to the major cities. The rationale… Read more Wanderlust – Budget Traveler Tips

Pompeii & Mt Vesuvius

Southern Italy is known for it’s scenic coastal view, pizza and… historical site – ancient city of Pompeii. An ancient Roman city that was buried under volcanic ash when Mount Vesuvius erupted in 75 AD. It was later discovered in the 18th century with most of the things in the city intact! Touring of the south is incomplete without visiting this historical site. Spanish Quarters, Naples

Naples, the 3rd city in my 15 days Italy backpacking trip. Naples or Napoli in Italian sits on the southern part of Italy, a city with magnificent coastal view. The people there tend to speak louder and with more hands gesture as compared to Venice and Florence. First place which i explored in the city after dropping off my backpack is the Spanish Quarters or Quartieri Spagnoli in Italian. My host in Venice did advise me against wandering around in that area but i went ahead. View this post on… Read more Spanish Quarters, Naples

Demystified the Transportation in Patong

Patong just opened their spanking new international airport. It is beautiful… Very spacious and bright as compared to the old one. And the A/C is strong. Verrry strong… a huge contrast from the heat when you step out from the airport. First thing every traveler would look for when stepped out from the custom is data sim card. You’ll see the 3 main teleco in the airport with True having a huge presence. DTAC and AIS are just right next to each other. For an unlimited 3-4 days prepaid plan… Read more Demystified the Transportation in Patong

Sad. No Gym during vacations

I started working out since university days. Lessons learnt over the years… It is not how heavy the weights I lifted or the number of sets completed. The key in getting the lean cut is diet. Planning for Amsterdam

Amsterdam, 3rd to 8th May. Just in time to visit the Tulip fields in Keukenhof Gardens! Woohoo~ That’s one of my travel goals in 2017. Hotel rate at this time of the year is also higher, finding a cheap and yet decent accommodation is tough. After a couple of search i found CLinkNoord, a backpacker hostel close to the central station. From the reviews and pictures gathered seems like a cool place to stay and to get to meet fellow travelers.   With my accommodation settled next is to plan my… Read more Planning for Amsterdam
